Kaylie is a 2 year old spayed female. Poor Kaylie lay at the public animal shelter for 4 days with a fractured leg, but that wasn't the worst of her problems. Kaylie had a beer bottlecap lodged in the wall of her stomach, and she had not eaten for days when we picked her up. Kaylie was put on IV fluids to stabilize her before surgery and it was touch and go for the first two days after if she would even make it. Six days on IV's she finally began to eat tiny meals several times a day and was able to come home to the rescue shelter.

Kaylie needed a plate in her leg to repair the break, but she was too fragile at the time of her stomach surgery to even think about repairing the leg. Now that it has started to heal the surgeon will have to go in and rebreak the leg, cut out a piece of bone and put a plate in. Since we are struggling to pay the $1,459 to save her life we have to postpone repair of her leg until we can raise the money in full. Approx $2,500, or if we cannot raise the money in time we will have to amputate the leg. Kaylie winks and grins when meeting someone new--with personality to spare this poor little girl has been through heck and back-as if that wasn't enough she has had multiple litters in her young life.
